Government of Canada announces extension of 2024 charitable donations to February 28, 2025
To mitigate the impact of the four-week Canada Post mail stoppage the Government of Canada has extended the deadline for making donations eligible for a 2024 charitable tax receipt from December 31, 2024 to February 28, 2025. Learn more here here.
Although the university will be closed from December 24, 2024 through January 1, 2025, there are three ways you can still make your donation this holiday season:
- Give online below with a credit card
- Print out our donation form and mail it to University Relations. Please note that your envelope must be postmarked on or before February 28th, 2025 to qualify for a tax-deductible receipt for 2024.

Transfer securities to one of our brokers. Please provide a copy of this transfer form to:
- your broker,
- the University of Saskatchewan broker of your choice
- Donations and Trusts (email a copy to ur.stocks@usask.ca)
