To mitigate the impact of the four-week Canada Post mail stoppage, the Government of Canada has announced their intention to extend the deadline for making donations eligible for a 2024 charitable tax receipt to February 28, 2025. However, this extension has not yet been passed into legislation. Draft legislation has been released which clarifies which gifts qualify for the extension.
